Why does everyone have to talk about Hitler when they hear something about Germany??? Our generation wasn't even born at that time,it`s not our fault and it hurts us to what happened at that time. And these idiots you can find in every country not just in Germany.

I love the Germans (being one myself). They do have a different type of humour though. Some Americans don't seems to get it.
Not sure what you're saying with your second sentence.

I think the stereotypes of Germans from years gone by are now very wrong

These days when I think of Germans I think of a forward-thinking people, very technologically and industrially minded, yet very 'green', and that the country is very clean, thats what struck me about it.When I think there there was no litter in the streets, everything was very attractive, it was a lot less dirty than England or even France.

Iv been to the Rhineland (to the area around Koblenz, Trier, Boppard ) and it was some of the msot beautiful landscape Iv seen , would love to go back to Germany on my travels one day soon.

When I visited Germany I felt like I was home. The only thing that I noticed different was the language.

I think of my Great Grandma, my fathers fathers mother, she was born in Germany, and came to the US in 1912, she had family she talked to over there until she got ill. I inherited a giant framed picture of the Kaiser from her.

Germans are generally like Americans and most move to America because they think they are no different which they really aren't.
