I can't tell the future, but if you allow yourself to have fun, then you will probably have some sort of fun. |

Absolutely!!!! Hook up with a local and ask them for the best places to eat and to party. Treat them to a dinner or a drink and you should have a blast. |

I hope you have a wonderful time. Visiting a foreign country is fun because it's different. Don't expect things to be the same as they are in the US, because it isn't. Find fun things to do, and at least learn what the foods are and know the numbers in the language of the country you are going to. Most menus at restaurants are in both English and the laguage of the country. Sometimes they aren't. Knowldege of numbers helps when you are asking about prices of things. Have a great time! |

I've spent time in Germany (Marburg, Oberwesel, Heidelberg and Frankfurt). If you're into mythology at all, along the Rhine River (near Oberwesel) you can see the legendary Lorelei Rocks. Try to stay in a castle at some point in the trip if you can. Castle Schoenburg in Oberwesel is 1000 years old and really neat. In Marburg, the Sorat hotel is nice and the town is wonderful...there's a underground bar in town which is a little cavelike but sort of cool for a cocktail. Heidelburg is a college town...lots of great restaurants and a good market square. Hotel Hackteufel (despite its gory name) is nice. Hike to the Heidelburg Castle. Enjoy the journey wherever you end up in Germany! |
