i think you are worrying to much
germany is its own very strong economic country.........it rules itself
so it is only the german customs / police / state officials that hold any power in germany !!!!!!!!
you can check the locations of US air bases on yahoo !
i believe they are in the Rhur valley area / berlin / and the northern heathland ( forget the name for now )
so unless you step into what will be a clearly marked american ' base ' ......which is fenced and marked ....where you then would be asked for your papers !!!!!!!!!!
otherwise- you are travelling as freely in germany, as anywhere else in europe !!! |

Heeeeh???? People won't know if you see a American in Germany or not. How will people know if you meet American or not? In my opinion German and American look alike.
You will meet Americans everywhere in big cities. Maybe you won't see Americans in a small, boring, quite, and unknown german village. |

In Madrid you can avoid American tourists in Germany. I know that for a fact. I'm sure there are lots of other cities all over the world where you can avoid American tourists in Germany.
Avoiding trolls is a bit harder though.
