Is Germany the only real prosperous country in the EU?

Germany is the largest economy in the EU. They are the powerhouse of Europe and their economy is still larger than China's. Most EU countries are prosperous, particularly the smaller countries as they can adapt to changes quicker than the larger countries but are export dependent.

No. You may have heard of England, France, Italy, Ireland and Belgium. They all have pretty high standards of living also.

@sholomNY, they may be richer, but they don't import/export, produce and invent nearly as much produkts than germany!
The question has a lot of truth about it....Europe without Germany would simply collaps......

seems they are all doing good its just germany is doing Great......the people that is the towns are going to crap because the towns have no money and have to pay it all to the 4 million unemployed and the 10 million foreigners that dont want to work and dont learn the language......they just want a free ride in life and deutschland is dumb enough to do it so they all come here and pour the free money back into the economy........wait in 4-5 years it will change......

@Schwester S: You are right. Europe would collapse without Germany because we Germans put most of the money into the EU so our own country is about to go bankrupt one day.
Politicians are corrupt and misuse our taxes.
I'd rather would like to live in another country than Germany but I'm too old for immigration and governments from other countries just want younger people.
