additional information: During, short before and after the WorldCup Takes place there will be controls at and near the border of Germany for security reason. Further there will be controls in the cities where the teams are playing on the days of the games.

I've read an article a couple of weeks ago that said during the WC they are not going to accept schengen visas and are going to put control on the border crossings again.

First answer is not correct. If a Schengen visa is issued, it is valid to visit all Schengen countries. If you have a Schengen visa, technically you can arrive into any of the Schengen countries. However, they dont like it and might create problems for your next visa. You have to apply for a schengen visa to the embasssy or consulate of the country you will arrive first. Meaning if you want to Germany, you need to apply your schengen visa with German embassy/consulate. If you are issued a country specific visa, then you should not travel to other schengen countries. Germany can issue a visa valid for Germany ONLY. Read my lips....you should not....but you can....there is no border
