Job on base for civilian in germany? |
My family and I are likely relocating to Bamberg or Schweinfurt in February. The company I will be working for is contracted with the Dept of Defense, therefore, we will have military base privileges. What are the chances that my husband could find a job on base? What is the best way to find job opportunities on base for civilians? |

Go to cpol.army.mil. It's the Army Civilian job database site, you can search there for jobs in Germany. Even if you were to go the NAF office at your duty station and ask about vacancies they would direct you to the website. It's happened to me before. Good luck! |

He could either check www.cpol.army.mil once you get there, or he could try to apply before leaving through www.usajobs.gov .
The problem with waiting til you are in Germany is that as a DoD civilian's spouse, he would be towards the bottom of the category list, making him eligible after veterans or military spouses.
There are always MWR jobs that he shouldn't have a problem getting, but they don't pay very well most of the time. |

cpol.com but I gotta warn you jobs on post are very scarce....have him learn german for four hours a day for six months and then work in the german sector or something. most on post jobs are full unless he is going to go to graph or vilseck |
