My brother and his girlfriend are coming to germany, and I would like to have some places to show them and take them.....I am in Mainz.....any sugestions???
Hey everyone! I am planning a trip around Europe and would like to know what are the places that I shouldn't miss about Germany (museums, castles, historic places, natural beauties, etc- ...
I want to send a burned CD to a friend who lives in Germany. Will he be able to listen to it? I know that DVDs can be formatted differently, but are CDs the same?...
Just to go and see the crowds outside the tents and the rides they have there?...

Mannheim, Germany? I have a long lost uncle, aunt & cousin in Germany. How can I access a Mannheim phonebook?
Or any other way I can find these people. I only know their first and last names. I don't know much else--the rest of my family is deceased.
Thanks for any help- Additional Details P.S. I'm an American in the United States, and I have only a teensy bit of Deutsche.
You may try this website http://www.dastelefonbuch.de/
It asks for namen (name) and ort (address or city). I tested it myself with my father in law and his name came up with his telepone number. By the way Mannheim is a nice city and kind of big. My wifes family all live within 20 miles of Mannheim.

this one is better, it's in English but you can figure it out from the other links, it's in the right upper corner.
If you're reasonably sure that they live in Mannheim, you might like to try, maybe with the help of an online dictionary (www.dict.cc) the following homepage:
www.telefonbuch.de
If you have severe difficulty with the German language, please contact me, I speak both English and German fluently.
GOOD LUCK!

Have a look at www.dastelefonbuch.de
Give in name (family and first name) and the city. If there is a landline number they should be listed.
Good luck.
P.S. Try with every name you have - as you mentioned uncle, aunt and cousin cause they might not necessarily live together.

Well, I live right next to Mannheim. I could always look in the phone book for you.
Give me their names. I allow messages and such from my profile.

Have you tried looking them up on the internet or actually going to Germany? That would be your best bet, actually. You don't need a lot of German in major metropolitan areas, however, if you travel outside them, you will be met with blank stares when you speak english!
