My family is getting stationed to Wiesbaden Germany in Feb. and my husband has not gotten a sponsor! Help plz?

You won't believe this, but I'm registered with YC Germany (actually I'm the leader of the board), and guess where I live? Yep, I live in Wiesbaden! I can't help you with the sponsor part, but once your family gets over here, I'll be more than happy to show you all the nice places, not only in Wiesbaden, but also in Mainz which is close to Wiesbaden.

About housing: in Wiesbaden-Erbenheim the American Army has a large housing area - maybe that's were you will live? Public transportation (buses) is good. But I suppose the Army can give you better info for starters than I can.

We are a non-profit place which is trying to keep traditions alive by collecting and working with old letter presses and teaching visitors of all ages and nationalities how printing was done a long time ago and how with similar techniques you can create beautiful art. On the title page you may click on "Der Film Ã¼ber uns" (the video about us) - that is the link to a short clip taken by a TV team around X-mas in 2007, it displays the Druckladen and also portrays me teaching some children to print their own X-mas cards (I'm the lady giving an interview sitting on a chair). You may not understand the words, as the homepage and the video are in German, but you'll get a pretty good idea about the place nethertheless.

I don't have an answer for your question but would appreciate any answers that you receive! We will be moving 4/1 which is only a week after we get home from our honeymoon. I have no idea how I am going to have a house packed up and ready to move that quickly. I am scared to death! He will be with the DOD but as a civilian.

I visited Wiesbaden a couple of times. I had friends there too. I was not associated with the Service though. Nor were my friends.
I am not sure about life in the US Army in Wiesbaden, but I know they have a web page and a radio station in English in Wiesbaden.

Wiesbaden is a nice enough city. It's not my favourite city in Germany, but it's fine. It's close proximity to Frankfurt is a definite plus.
