I'm orig. from Germany. My hubby was stationed in Wiesbaden on his second tour. It is a beautyfull city, but the people are rude!
Got lots of money and are snobs. Hate to say this, but Wiesbaden is a beautyfull city...worth visiting

I have lived in both. Frankfurt is a bit unattractive when the sun goes down and the prolats gather, but there are some good places like the Turmpalast with current English-language movies, some decent restaurants and clubs (but NONE will be worth a damn until they clear the filthy smokers out). Wiesbaden is a bit more peaceful, but people are impersonal and think they have something going on. They don't because the smokers have ruined that place as well. If you like to gamble, they have a joint near the American White House (without wings).

when you get to the airport ask taxi driver to take you or look for the Esprix Hotel or call them for reservations. Excellent hotel. reasonable price too. Clean rooms too.

Yes they speak English and all information is in English.
I know you will enjoy yourself. I have stayed at this hotel more than 8 times. Trier is also a good place to visit and enjoy good food and PLEASE stop by a bakery for coffee and a pastry.

I thought Frankfurt was uncomfortable. Seemed there were a lot of police about and they actually suggested my wife and I go back to our hotel when it got dark. We left the next morning.

I live in Wiesbaden currently, and have for more than three years now. I also visit Frankfurt fairly often since it's only about 15 or 20 minutes away, but usually for the English-language movie theatre on Eschenheimer Str. near the Hauptwache. If you're coming a month from now, you *might* be around to see the Christmas Markets in Wiesbaden and Frankfurt, not to mention Mainz and Rudesheim, which are very close to Wiesbaden, depending on how long you're staying in the area. I'm not much of an art buff but you'll have plenty of art galleries and museums to pick from in either city--probably a few more in Frankfurt, by virtue of its size. Same goes with places to dine--but I suppose that depends on what sort of restaurants you and your husband generally prefer to frequent; I have no doubt you'll find something to your liking whatever your tastes are, in either city. If you'd like to know something more specific, feel free to send me a message and ask... I know the area around here pretty well, having lived here for more than three years, and living in Wiesbaden to boot :)
