If you want to do the 'real thing' go to one of the many beer gardens if the whether is good. I recommend Augustiner Keller or Hirschgarten, but there are many others worth going.
But a beer garden is not really nightlife. If you are looking for clubs to go to try P1, Prinzregentenstr. 1. It's quite hard to get in but if you are successful you'll find the Munich jet set (Schickeria) there.
A good choice will be Kultfabrik. It's a former industrial area with lots of bars and clubs. I'm sure you'll find some bar or club you'll like.
If you want to stroll on a nice summer evening go to Leopoldstr. and walk from MĂĽnchener Freiheit to Siegestor. There a lots of cafes and restaurants with tables on the side walk and you can watch people in all different outfits walking by. Later you can go to Shamrock in Trautenwolfstr, 100 m from Leopoldstr. It's an Irish pub with life music and a lot of English speaking guests.
During the day depends on your interests. Hang out in the English Garden (play soccer, lie in the sun, ...), visit museums, sites (Residenz, Castle Nymphenburg, Olympic stadium, ...), go shopping (Fußgängerzone), and much more...

You have to go to the Hofbrau Haus. Order a mass of bier, a few bretzels und butter, maybe some chicken.
I was only there a short time, besides going to Oktoberfest. Make sure you to to see the glockenspiel at the Rathaus at noon. |
