Some science-related sites:
* Technological Museum
* Natural History Museum
* Humboldt University (many Nobel Prize laureates)
* Archenhold Observatory - this is where Einstein has given the speech about the Relativity Theory for the first time.
I also suggest you do your own research, starting with the official city sites (berlin.de and visitberlin.de) - especially regarding the many other museums, WWII sites, and hostels. |

Deutsches Historisches Museum
Unter den Linden
Berlin
That's the national historic Museum. Covers German history from way before the romans came until today. so Romans, Knights, medival ages, Napoleonic wars, WW1, WW2, Inflation, Wall, Reunion - you're covered.
Ägyptisches Museum Berlin (Egyptian Museum)
don't know the street address, but it's right next to the Berliner Dom. It exhibits Nophretete (the original), the altar of Pergamon and loads of other stuff, especially egypt art AND you might want to mention that as soon as the Egyptians will be done building their Museum in Cairo, a lot of the stuff goes back to Egypt!
Topographie des Terrors (topography of (the) terror)
Very interesting. It's the last few standing walls (logically it's cellar walls) of the head quarters of the GESTAPO in Berlin. The headquarters got bombed down, after the war they simply filled it up with rubble, and when the wall was built, the stretch of land was in the "Todesstreifen" right behind it. Rests of the wall are still standing. That place will send shivers down your back with creepy, brutal history.
All of the things metioned above you can google on the internet. They all have English versions of their pages.
Hope that helped! |
