Please could somebody translate this from english into german for my correspondant?

''At the moment, i am a pupil at a school called STAGS. STAGS is a girls school in St Albans, and it is my local comprehensive. there are about a thousand pupils and forty teachers. generally, i like the pupils and teachers but there are a few people i do not liek. Next year, i hope to study for A-levels in science and maths or german as i want to become a zoologist and travel the world! however, i will not study in STAGS because i will move house and liv in Dubai. i have been there before on holiday, and it is extremely hot! a lot of people speak english, but i think that my family and i must learn arabic, as it is more polite. i became very happy there when i was on holday. i would be very happy to go, but i will miss my freinds.''

please do not use translator, as it is extremely unreliable with german grammar. i hope to impress my correspondant so 5strs to the most accurate, including umlauts!

Here goes:

Ich war schon einmal im Urlaub dort und es ist zimelich heiß (if you were referring to the temperature, which I don't think. I guess you wanted to say that you thought Dubai to be a cool place to live, so you would say: Ich war schon einmal im Urlaub dort und es hat mir sehr gut gefallen.) Viele Leute dort sprechen Englisch, aber ich denke meine Familie und ich werden Arabisch lernen müssen. Das ist höflicher. Im Urlaub war ich dort sehr glücklich. Ich werde sehr froh sein, dort hin zu gehen, aber ich werde meine Freunde vermissen.

There you go. Though it sounds to me like that is homework you needed to do, and since you are proclaiming to want to get your A-levels in German, you should really be able to do that by yourself. After all, I am a native German, and look how well I know my English! However, I hope this helped you out!

I was just reading the answers, frackledJJ is correct.
@ Alwin E is wrong and as a professional translater he should know.
Sixxtwo4 is right, local means place= Stelle/Ort/Platz.
nobody in the USA or UK would call a Pub, restaurant or bar a "local", as ment in german LOKAL.
Thats what we call "Unsinn"

Fenris Troll Ripper JPA RT ATL ®
Bern is right WE DO NOT CALL our pubs and bars Local!!.

The rest you will have to decide between the German natives they can translate better than I, but I can tell you that we do not call pubs lokal or local in the USA or England.

@frackled, you fell in on a "fake friend": local does not translate as "lokal". A "Lokal" is a pub. The correct adjective would be "örtlich"; flexed: "an einer örtlichen Gesamtschule".

@ Alwin

lokal can be used as an adjective as well as a noun. The noun (spelled with a capital L) would in fact mean pub, but used as an adjective it does mean local....

Wikipedia said:
lokal, Adjektiv (zu lateinisch locus): Ort, Platz, Stelle; Bedeutung: örtlich, auf den hiesigen Ort bezogen.
