It's not easy to get a work permit for Germany unless you are Australian and under 30: then just let them get a working holiday visa. From the USA there's no such thing and chances are pretty low for getting a work permit unless your girls find an american employer in Germany. Although the economic situation is improving at the moment, there's still a high unemployment rate.
Another way would be: let them participate in an exchange program of their university / college - they could also apply independently at a german university (my former american girlfriend did both successfully). Studying in Germany allows foreign students to work up to 20 hrs per week during the semesters and full time in the semester breaks. That should be sufficient for making a living.
Finding an honest employer who also offers jobs to non-EU-citizens without work permit? Sorry, but I can't give you any recommendations.
My conclusion: easiest way would be becoming a student enrolled at a german university. Your girls would learn german, keep on completing their education, would be allowed to work, and would have a good time in Germany. A lot of exchange students I met stayed longer than only one year...
If you have any more (general) questions, please feel free to also use eMail. |

Are you American? If so, check out www.afrceurope.com for job opps. It also comes with housing. The company isn't always the greatest, but you can get by, and Garmisch is an amazing place to live- I was there for two wonderful years. |
