Some of the larger, more well-known cities are Munich, Frankfurt, and Berlin. They also happen to be cities with international airports. Other popular attractions are the Cologne Cathedral and Neuschwanstein Castle in Fussen.

All of the above are wonderful experiences, but to be honest, it really depends on your itenterests. If you want to see castles, skip Neuschwanstein and take a Rhine River cruise where you will see dozens of them. If you want to see mountains go to Bavaria. There's a beautiful little town down there called Garmisch. If you're interested in historical sites go see Trier, where they have several roman ruins you can visit. If you're looking for nightlife, go to one of the larger cities.

I would recommend looking at the Germany tourism website, and if interested, go to the unesco world heritage sites and watch some of the videos there.

I like Germany. It is nice place, good organized, very clean, friendly and smart people, you can travel quickly in Germany or to the another EU countries, I like also what they are doing for the global warming and the economy is good, they doing the best cars. What else.....

Go to Munich!!! It is a big city, but about 100 times cleaner and prettier than NYC or LA. It is also very fun. (personally) But make sure you don't drive around. Take the Ubahn or Sbahn. It is tons easier. Also, Garmisch is fun and a cute town.

If you like nature, the Wadden Sea, the Spreewald area and the Elbsandstein Mountains are worth checking out. They are not the most famous destinations in Germany (the Alps and the Black Forest are), but they are very beautiful (and not so overrun by Japanese on a Europe-in-10-days package tour).

Trier, It is the oldest city in Germany and I has some great shopping. It has Roman baths, an ampitheatre and an old part of the roman city gate "Porta Negria".
