Here you can get some information and a timetable for a Rhine River cruise:

You might have to take a train to Cologne, but they're running quite frequently and Cologne Cathedral next to the main station is worth a visit.

Yeah, so what's the problem? Go for it! I rode the Rhine for several days, from Koln to Koblens, and a few stops in between. Fun! Just go down to the river, and hop on.....get off when you want!

I just came back from a cruise from Basel to Amsterdam. Best vacation I ever had..Do it!

Go for it..... make sure you have a camera and plenty of film.
Once in Rüdesheim, visit the "Drosselgasse"... a must!!!
Lovely village.

hi..

its a very long journey from düsseldorf to Rüdesheim.
Therefore the cruises starts in cologne.
Take the train to cologne. Its running several times an hour.
Not far from the station you´ll find the rhine and the boats.

but take care that you plan your trip carefully, i think it isn´t possible to go to rüdesheim and back in one day.

Just type "Rhine river cruises" into the search engine - you get loads of sites.
