hi, I am from Germany. First of all, I donÂ´t know the American view on sex. I know some students (or soldiers) who come here and behave like there is no tomorrow but I think this is not the common way most Americans would behave ;-P.
I have no problems to discuss about sex and most Germans are probably the same. I am 26 now but I can remember when I had been 14 more than half of my female schoolmates took the pill (not only for birth regulation but also because it weakens the menstruation pains for young girls) so this is certainly true. about a third had already sex (and wished they would have waited) and caring about birth control is not a matter of wealth, as long you are not 21 the health insurance will pay.
All in all: she seems to be a girl who knows what she wants, she is definitely not unsure or declaring. Wait and you will see how she really is she seems to have an interesting personality.

If she is coming to the US, chances are her parents are relatively wealthy and well-educated. This reflects on her and her attitude. German teens have more acess to information regarding sex - the level of maturity/adult problems discussed in teenage magazines in Germany is much higher. Seventeen is nothing like German Bravo! And yes, we are far more libreal when it comes to discussing the issue in public with friends or relatives.

That all however does not mean that she will be more willing. She will expect the same things from you that an American girl would. So calm down, relax and be a gentleman!

I would interpret her questions to be more along the lines whether she can still have fun (drinking, partying, going out, having a boyfriend at all) if she choose so - or whether your parents would curtail it due to stricter morals. Drinking age in Germany is 16, btw.

Her asking these questions are not an invitation to you! You have completely misread her intentions!
Germany is a very open society and sex is openly discussed, just like you would tips on how to bake bread! It does not mean that she is easy! And herein is your first big difference between US and European teenagers! The second is, that drinking is a priority here in the USA for most Teenagers, but not so much overseas. The prioroty there is to have fun!!!!
But not to drink, get stupid and have sex, like most of us here.
Please be respectful with her and know, that you represent the US to her.

It may be spoken about more freely, but other than that, attitudes are just as varied as anywhere. Of yourse, she would present her peer group as normal to you ("most teenage girls are on the pill"), but all research shows that this is just not true. There are people who are 14 the first time they have sex and people who are 21 and anything in between. But you probably know from experience that this is a subject area in which we tend to present ourselves according to what we think is cool rather than what is actually true.

Other than that, I agree with everyone else: It's not an invitation, it's not even a hint. It's just someone trying to act grown up and not sure how to do that.

So everything little different here in Germany than in US. The girls and boys are running early out the house and having sex. You can see also the Advertising on TV or on the road the Posters hanging all free, the education at schools different too, they are talking in young age about sex, aids all that. I think that's good.
The girl coming to your place from Germany perhaps she having many experiences with that, but don't be get shocked. If you don't like something just let her know. Than you are coming to Germany and you see, what I'm talking about, but don't think just like that, the Germans has nothing in their had but Sex. The Country is great, people are nice, you can see so much new things here, fun, shopping, traveling, culture, history more and more. Just enjoy this opportunity and have fun.
