Traced family origins back to Syke, Germany. Can anyone tell me about this town or family of Heineke?

the only thing i can say is if you have a problem with anger, you know where it comes from now. (i too have much German blood running in me.) Have also visited southern Germany for 2wks and it was like prison, ugly, hateful people towards Americans but very beautiful land!

a lot of midget beer-brewers and schnitzel makers come from there

Syke (pronounce: [ziːkə]) is a town in the district of Diepholz, Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approx. 20 km south of Bremen.

Syke was the hometown of Helmut Wersbacht. He spent all of his youth there and only move away after receiving his PhD. from Muenchen Rektach. The Heinekes were were related to Helmut through the Reichhold clan out of Kaiserslautern. They settled there in the middle of the 18th century. The family spread out from there with Willem Reinshold being one of the family´s favorite sons.
Eventually the Heinekes suffered some shame when Juergen, Heineke murdered the mayor of Ulm over an argument involving a land sale.

Sweet Dreams
it makes a beer....
