Traveling Germany?

I am traveling to Germany. I already bought a train ticket which gets me to all my stops but two. I need to get from Berlin to Potsdam and back, which is about a 36 min distance. The other place I have to get is from Dusseldorf to Dortmund and back, which is a 54 min distance. Does anyone have any idea how to travel? Or some good websites or somthing. Thank you.

I am not sure about Dusseldorf to Dortmund but look on http://www.bahn.de click on the british flag for english.

But from Berlin to Postdam you can buy a A,B,C ticket for Euro 6 from any train or S-bahn station ticket machine. They are good for that whole day until 3 am the next morning for any and all public transportation (bus, subway (Ubahn), trolley (Sbahn) and trains) in and around Berlin all the way to Potsdam and around Potsdam.

I was there a few weeks ago and got the ABC ticket then just for grins rode down to Postdam, jumped a bus over to Schloss Sansucci (?) and then back to Berlin.

Hope you have a few days there.. lots to see and do.
Great view.. goto Alexander Platz, go up in the telecommunications tower to the viewing platform.

You probably don't find those two since you can reach them with socalled S-Bahns (subway). If you go to the trainstation of those two cities you won't have any problem finding a connection to your destinations!

Excellent advise in earlier comments, and let me add you can get a lot of info at www.bahn.de . You can access this site in English if you don"t read German.

jim
Easiest way is just to purchase your tickets as you need them.
The trainstations (Bahnhofen) have automated ticket machines, with instructions in English.
From there, you can hop a bus/tram to get where you need to go in town.

Try checking out the German Rail web page. It has a section for the international traveler that is in English. I am confident that there is a commuter train or bus that can take you to your desired destination.
