Traveling in Germany?

I'm headed to Germany (Berlin specifically) around New Year's. I'm just wondering if people who visit/live there have suggestions of things to do. What was the best thing you did there? I'm not a huge cathedral/museum type person, but I really enjoy cool restaurants or bars, offbeat sights or experiences, local color. Any suggestions?

I know Check Point Charlie is a Musuem but its a cool place to hang out. Many young people enjoy it. Down by the Kaiser Memorial Church is also a place to hang out and follow the crowd. There are a many a place to just hang out and most people find it on there own. Unter der Linden is getting to be like that. Braddenburg Gate on New Years is the place to be. Off the wall place is......The Erotic Musuem. Enjoy

Cool restaurants, bars and sidewalk cafes just a few blocks east of the Brandenburg gate and in the revolving restaurant in the fernsehenturm. There are so many Italians in Germany so one of my favorite foods is REAL BRICK OVEN pizza in Italian restaurants....sounds wierd but try it...Yum...Shopping at KaDeWe is the best...(largest department store on the continent) To learn a little german go to the new James Bond movie in German...trust me you will get the point, Mr. Bond.....Gotta tour the Reichstag (the ball thing next to the gate). I imagine they will have fireworks there for New Years....Have a blast....

Easy,

The germans are a rather easy going folk. I am sure that if you just ask they will show you a good time.

I have been living in Germany for far too many years and have found some cool places by just asking around on the street. Most of them speak english but they do like it if you try to ask in German.

Good luck and Veil Spaß.
