Uhm I was wondering....?

I know this is not the right category for this question but I put it in a different category before and got no answers so Hopefully i can get some answers from this category. I have been learning German by listening to Tokio Hotel. So far I know three lines of the first verse in the song Durch Den Monsun. Then yesterday I began to wonder how would I say Monster in german I looked up monster in translator of Dictionary.com and It came up as monster so I put the word that meant the same but was spelled differently in the translator, and Beast came up as Tier which means animal in German if im not mistaken. My cats name is monster and i wish to call her by both names. Yes I know that i will confuse my cat if i do that but It would be nice shes almost 10 to 11 months old anyways she does not even know her regular name yet. so my question is.

1: Is there a German translation for Monster if so how do I pronounce and spell it?

2: Is Tier the only word for Beast?

3:if so how is it pronounced, is it pronounced Tire or Tea Ear?

Alright, I'll try to help you.

1. German translation for "monster" is Monster. Same pronunciation as in English.

2. Tier means only "animal". "Beast" is Biest. Funny that is as it's the same pronunctation as in English.

3. Tier is pronounced like the English word "tear" - and not like you mentioned "tea ear"

1. Monster is Monster in german too. And you pronounce it the same way.

2. And beast actually doesn´t mean Tier, it´s more like "Bestie" or "Biest"
Biest is pronounced like the english beast.

Dra E
Ungeheuer is another translation for monster

1. Monster is pronounced as "monster", and means exactly that. But maybe you're not exactly aware of the fact that the anglosaxon (and German) word "monster" has its origins in Latin "monstrum", which means "something to show" or "something admireable".

2. No. We have a multitude of words for "beast" which range from "Bestie" (say: bay-stier) to "Vieh" (say: fee), the latter of them being really derogatory, and it shouldn't be a part of your everyday German, especially when combined with "mist". "Mist", in German, doesn't mean the slight fog you experience in autumn in, say, New England, but is a word for "dung". So if you call someone "Mistvieh" (mist-fee), you're likely to get into trouble.

3. "Tier" is pronounced like "teer". "Teer", however, is pronounced like "tear". Teer is the substance most German roads are covered with. We have few gravel roads here... -- oh, yes, and the German word for "tear" is "Träne". If that tears your brain apart, I'll completely understand that and recommend you visit the nearest psychiatrist, or listen to some music by Falco (who wasn't German, but that's a different topic).

Alles klar, Herr Kommissar?
