What's Germany like to live in now?

What's the food like? The economic situation? The political situation? What are the people like? Is it a beautiful country?

Thanks?

Germany is a very beautiful country. I've spent a month there. People are always friendly and are ready to help you if you have some problems. Even if you don't ask for it they can offer you.
As to economical situation, well, the only thing I can say it's better than in Russia (I live in Russia). The greatest Problem there is the German unification of 1990. Still there are big differences between West Germany and East Germany. The big sums of money from West Germany are invested to East Germany but the economical situation is worse there, though. I've heard this is the main problem, the "wessi"(West Germany people) are tired to pay high taxes to develop East Germany (Ossi).

Germany is very beautiful and I really enjoy to live here. The food is very good, not only fast-food (but we also have McDonald´s and BurgerKing), but also quite delicious traditional food.
The economic situation is on the one hand good, since Germany is still number 1 in exporting countries, on the other hand, the inflation rates 2% and since we have the Euro, everything gets expensive.
The political situation is temporarily very bad. Although we live in a democracy, we can´t really decide, what we want, but if you compare our political situation with those from iraq or north korea, it is good.
Most people are very friendly and nice, and especially the young people try out their english knowledge on everyone. Of course there are also some people who are unkind, and who are criminal, but you only find these people in the dark suburbs of big cities.
The countryside is very beautiful, and you can almost do everything in only 2-3 hours by car, as skiing or snowboarding in winter or going to the beach in summer.
If you are high qualified, you can easily find a job.

Beautiful, Clean and nicely planned cities. Specially Munich. Fun to live in but its kind of expensive and difficult to find job.

Germany is my favorite country; I lived there for six months and I plan to return in September for at least a year.

Food: Doener Kebap, a spicy Turkish food. It is meat with vegetables and tangy sauce in a pita-like shell.

People: The people are very friendly...eventually. It takes a while for Germans to open up to people, but once they do, they will be the best friends you've ever had. They're loyal and honest, much moreso than Americans. There is a real sense of community in towns and cities that we just don't get here.

The country is gorgeous- go to the Mosel Valley (Trier, Koblenz, Saarbruecken)- there is great hiking, camping is pleasant because the weather is usually quite nice (except in winter when it's cold everywhere).

people are very friendly. food does follow the typical stereotype and is meaty. Germany has the most industrial success of all of the western european countries, a lot of things are made in germany. Political: the sociallists have just been kicked out by the CDU whos leader is scarily like margaret thatcher and I fear for the german economy in future. the people tend to hold very few prejudices, as they know what it feels like to be prejudiced by many other nations, even though nazi-ism is rebelled against even more so in germany than anywhere else (why im not proud to be british). and yes, it is a beautiful country which is easily accessed by great rail and road links.
