e.g., laws or initiatives. Anything really...

a lot unlike USA where KKK and Bones & Sculls are still not forbidden and Nazis are allowed to sell their evil stuff

Right-wingers are a real bunch of oafs, with no plan of action (thank goodness) No one really takes them seriously and at the end of the day, it is better and easier to keep an eye on the scumbags by having them crawling about above ground then festering below.
The gov. keeps a good eye on their activities and it is illegal to show the swastika, the salute etc.

what is america doing? Very complicated issue. A lot of it depends on what part of Germany you are in. If you were black, you would not go into a white neighborhood in the south and call everyone a "honky". They do their best and as of yet, the parties in this direction have not gained 5% of the vote for representation in most areas although some NPD leaders do hold office with 5% of vote in their districts. I believe there is are some NPD leaders in high political office in the former East Germany or rather New Germany. I don't keep up with all of this because I can't vote. I am not a German citizen. All parties do have some representation in communities to include NPD and Republicaner. Republicaner not to be confused with the US Republican. US Republican is similar to the CSU/CDU. The German Authorities do try to control Right-wing extremism as best they can, but many neo-nazi groups are allow to parade. During these Neo-Nazi parades, a lot of people come out to protest against them. Tough situation for the police.

The government is still struggling to forbid the NPD (Nationaldemocratic Party of Germany, but in reality - to make a long story short - they are (Neo)Nazis.) but still has not been successful. These people can hide their true motives very good.

Same goes for extremist organisations, e.g. youth organisations etc. Nationalsocialist organisations are forbidden but it's very hard and takes a long time to finally prove that these organisations teach a forbidden ideology.
So yes, there are a lot of initiatives but they're hard to carry out. (Of course these people know that they're illegal, so...)

It's illegal to quote Nazi propaganda or to display their symbols. Even Asian comics which show a swastika are retouched so you can't see the swastika anymore.

If that counts: Every pupil in school is taught about the nationalsocialism, Nazi Germany, Hitler and everything that happened back then. In almost every school term from age 13 to 18 there is a chapter which deals with this topic.
