Possibly u mean the "Führer"... means the "Leader"...
Hitler was called "der Führer".

Nazi Germany, or the Third Reich — officially called Deutsches Reich ("German Reich") and later Großdeutsches Reich ("Greater German Reich") — refers to Germany during the period from 1933 to 1945, when it was governed by the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers Party, or "Nazi Party"), with Adolf Hitler as chancellor and, from 1934, as head of state called the Führer (Leader).

Alwin E
You really don't know who the Führer (Adolf Hitler) was, or the 3rd Reich? Oh, come on! Consult the Wikipedia, or your history teacher, but don't ask such silly questions. They can be answered elswhere for your good.

edit:
>Hasn't anybody besides me ever seen Hogan's Heroes?
Sure, @taco. There's even a German version dubbed "Ein Käfig voller Helden" ("a cage full of heroes"). Some episodes should be available at Google Video; try my translation as a keyphrase. They dubbed it in a very stylish way, using real German dialects and actors. For everybody eager to learn German, that's the TV series to watch and listen to!

ü = ue
ä = ae
ö = oe
ß = ss

pleaaaase, im sick of the Fuhrer or Furher or what ever ..
Fuhrer and Furher never existed!
write Fuehrer please!
Fuhrer is pronounced totally different and has nothing to do with Führer.

Have you ever had history lessons at school? I don't think so!
Your question was not at all necessary to ask here.

Mistress Morgana
You must be extremely uneducated to ask questions like that.
