What are Germany's colonial interests ? ( During the world war 1)?

Show all answers

DasReich
The African nations of Cameroon,Namibia, and Tanzania were German colonies during WW1.

Alwin E
I don't think the Kaiser really had colonial interests. It was more or less a matter of keeping up with the other "superpowers" at that time. But, well, in some states it worked out "the German way", unfortunately, as can be seen in this BBC documentary:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-899627923732856130&q=Namibia+genocide&ei=97sMSNj9MYvg2ALT34W1BA

If you're more interested in the reasons for German colonial policy, watch the beginning of the video and skip the rest. If you want to know all the cruel details about what happened in Namibia, watch it all.
