Here you can find a list of landmarks all over germany:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Landmarks_in_Germany

I recommend the following:
- Heidelberg Castle
- Neuschwanstein
- Reichstag building
- Sanssouci
- Munich, Hofbräuhaus
- Berlin itself and the remains of the Berlin Wall
- Cologne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Landmarks_in_Cologne)
- Hamburg Harbour (second largest port city in Europe, ninth largest port in the world)
- Frankfurt/Main: Römer, Skyscrapers...

As a German I'd say that "landmarks", in the sense of the word, are the isle of Rügen in the north and the Zugspitze mountain in the south. When you've seen both, you have been from sea level up to 9,718 feet above.

I guess the most well known ones are the Brandenburg Gate, Neuschwanstein Castle, the Cathedral in Cologne (Köln), the Hofbräuhaus in Munich, the Reeperbahn in Hamburg. . .

The baby penguin
Zwinger, Frauenkirche, Semperoper in Dresden

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zwinger
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dresden_Frauenkirche
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semperoper

also the Saxon Switzerland
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saxon_Switzerland

Edit: Whoever gave my answer a thumbs down is stupid. Germany isn't just Munich or Bavaria.
