Yesterday I walked passed a hostel in Stadtmitte called City Stay. They seemed to be very organised with tons of info and lots of young people hanging about outside. Here is their website:

I recommend Reichtag - v. interesting history and a free tour, just walk about the city centre, or take the bus 100 or 200 from Berlin zoo station for a nice free sight seeing tour. They also have hop on hop off buses.

Use the search for my former answers on this topic.

I think a weekend is too short to see all of Berlin, but for a short impression: If the weather is fine, try to catch at least a city tour by bus and a guided tour on one of the boats crusing the river Spree and the canals. If the weather is bad, visit at least one of the museums (not necessarily one of those on the museum island) and go to one of Berlin's cinemas where they play your most favorite American movie, just to hear the actors dubbed in German (no, no subtitles here).

And as to the rest: Just enjoy!
