In my opinion, as a German?

Well, it's every name that ends with -hard, like
Bernhard (sounds like Bernhardiner)

or -gang, like
Wolfgang (the ending -gang actually means "hunter", so "Wolfgang" is "he who hunts wolves").

For females, the most funny name for me is "Adelheid". Though we abbreviate it as "Heidi", it'll do no better. Either you'rll remember the "Heidi" animated series on TV, or it makes you think of "Edelweiß", about which "Edelgard" (another funny name) will do no better.

You know we have some rhyming slang, too? Especially the young.

The real fun results out of the combination of first and last name of course. So, having a name like Claire Grube (sounds the same as the german word for cesspool) or Peter Silie (just like the german word for parsley) would be a lifetime punishment.

If you got some knowledge of german language, this website (among a lot of others) might be interesting for you:

Fenris Troll Ripper JPA RT ATL ®
I would not say these are funny but they were unusually pronounced for me than in English and it caught me off gaurd a few times but the nothing really funny, like my former GF name was Juliane, seems normal but in German it is pronounced (Yuliana) Or my friend Joerg, (Yorg),

One that always got me in the USA on the streets made me laugh when I would see the Schwanz trucks driving around the US and they have no clue what that means in german LOL and I do not tell them either its a riot to me and my friends ask me why I laugh and I tell them because that truck is driving around the US and it says Penis in German on it!!

Americans You know the company I am talking about, it is was amusing once. To you Germans it is an Ice Cream Company here in the USA that sells maily to Supermarkets. Do you see my amusement?

I always thought Brunhilde was funnny...but my Sister hates her name its Elfriede....my other Sister's name is Irmgard, she hates it too....my real name is Ingrid....so thats not to bad...

Andrea
I like my last name. A translation into English would be: hemp!
It's very funny on the phone, because it's difficult to understand. In such cases I try to explain it with the words: Like the plants.
One person answered me, that he would also like to talk to Mr. Marijuana... And we started to laugh so much....

Funny first names are: Bärbel (sounds like: bare-bell) and Eberhard...

Capt. Murphy
I don't get the question.
