The nearest airport to here is Hannover, HAJ for short. I stay in Fallingbostel only 30/40 minutes from Hannover airport, my husband and i are posted here.good luck and happy travelling.xx

There's only a town called Hameln in germany. It's approx. 50 km to the southwest of Hannover, a bigger city with an airport (Hannover-Langenhagen).
For a map type in "Hameln" at

According to 'The Pied Piper of Hamelin', it's in Brunswick, near to Hanover, with a River Weser (deep and wide) running through it.

(Robert Browning).

That part hasn't changed!

But there is now a Hanover International Airport, also known as Langenhagen Airport. In 2000 an S-Bahn connection was established between the airport and Hamelin via Hanover Central Station. Trains leave every 30 minutes for a 17 minute journey. This replaced the airport's shuttle bus service which ran every twenty minutes, more frequently than the S-Bahn, but took longer to reach the airport and railway station.

the second try, last time my computer broke down.
I have never heart this song or poem before, sounds nice.

Hamlin or Hameln like we spell it in Germany is situated
in "Weserbergland" close to Hannover. (Hannover Airport)
It is lovely there. The surrounding consists of small hills and green trees, you can go for long walks.
the town itself is cute with a old city center and a lot of half-timbered houses.
The "Pied Piper of Hamelin" is very famous and the small show on the market place during summertime is very nice.

Enjoy your time in Hameln.

You can find further information at

http://www.hameln.com/

ARRGH!!!
Do you mean Hameln? That's Germany.
