The German currency used to be the Deutsche Mark, but it is now the Euro, as in most other European countries now.

The euro...since 2002.
(And it's also good in the surrounding countries: Austria, The Netherlands, Belgium, France and Luxembourg. Poland, Denmark and Switzerland have their own currencies.)
It means no more tricky converting from one currency to another (and inevitably messing up in the process!).
