What do Germans think of Rammstein?

I like his music even though I don't really understand what he is saying. Is he popular in Germany and what is the general message of his music?

Rammstein is very famous here in Germany. The general massage is critics and aggressions against everything. One song is about USA and against the "americanisation" of the world.I am surprised that any American likes it.
For me it is to aggressive and dark...

Rammstein isn't a "he" as such, it's actually a band. They took their name from their home town.

Rammstein is very popular in Germany. If you can, download the "Live Aus Berlin" DVD. Not only is a an AWESOME concert but you will see the size of the crowd.

(A lot of people think that Rammstein is a skinhead/nazi band but this is not the case)

Look up the english translations of their lyrics and I can guarantee you will be disturbed! Lol. But yes, they are very popular.

The best albums is Herzeleid, Mutter and Sehnsucht.

rammstein is a bit like wrestlicng in the usa.. its all about the show.. there were many rumours about them in germany in the past 10 years, like they were nazis and so, but thats nonsense. after all that years i can say they are a kind of funny... the lyrics all about blood and some violence but not to serious, and if u see the videos u will see they dont keep themself to serious. i saw the other day a rammstein special on tv.. VERY funny to see them in "private" clothes, speaking very quite, honestly ect..then CUT and the show, dressed up dark ect... like said before, its all show..

The band is pretty popular in Germany. Their music is quite aggressive though, and their lyrics somewhat controversial. They actually use a lot of German Literature in their lyrics.
The band has been trying to find their own style, away from American pop music. According to Billboard they are the most successful German band at this time outside their country.
I personally don't like their music, it is a bit too dark for me.

ARRGH!!!
GREAT!!!! But they are not broadcasted via Radio because they are violent. But nevertheless they make great music!!!!!!!
