I went to Germany for a month last summer and it was amazing. I think Germany is one of those countries where the people are actually extremely friendly, coming from America and visiting Germany i had heard some horror stories lol. However, the first thing i can tell you to try is "TRY TO SPEAK THERE LANGUAGE!"
You don't have to be fluent, even if you just say "Hi my name is blah blah blah" In German, and you will see the red carpet roll out for you. I took 3 years of german so i did only and survived but it was just amazing how nice the people where when they realized i was trying my hardest to speak their language. Sure, i humiliated myself a little but once they knew that i wasn't only going to speak my language and expected them to understand they were completely friendly and helpful.
I went to Berlin and Bremen. Also, i look how punctual everything is there...especially the trains. It's amazing! The last but not least is the food...I think i fell in love with the bread =) The list goes on and on and on...lol |

I was born in Germany, left when I was a baby, came back years later after marrying a German.
I love Germany it is so rich in culture. In no way do I intend to insult the Us, but after living here I have questioned what US culture truly is.
I have touched castle walls, walked streets thousands of years old, and looked at artifacts that date back past the birth of Christ and into the Neolithic era.
I love so much about Germany. The food is great, the old cities are gorgeous. |
