What does this mean? (German)?

Uberlebender des krieges

(there are supposed to be two dots on top of the U)

"war survivor" or "veteran"

"Überlebender" would be correct, and it's easier for me to write it, as I'm a German and have a German keyboard. And "Krieg" is spelt with a capital K; the genitive, however, is correct.

It's the German word for someone who fought in battle and survived.

It is Survivor of the War. And yes, there is such a thing as 'des' it means 'of the' and is genitive case

It means something about "the war" I've never heard of the first word though. Blitz krieg for example meant lightning war. And usually it is "das" instead of "des." I've never heard that conjugation of "the" There is der, die, das, dem, and den, but I've never heard des.

Uber means "more" or "over"

EDIT: I guess "des" is the genitive conjugation. I forgot about that one. Well I still don't know what the first word is.

Oh I just found it. Uberlebender means "survivor."

So Survivior of the war
