All of Germany is really nice. Hannover is a great city. I lived there for three years and there are lots of nice festivals through the summer. Herrenhauser Gaerten is a really nice to place to visit and I would make it a must see. Opernhaus (opera house) is really nice to. I loved walking through Steintor and Kroepke (City center) there are a lot of nice stores theres and lots of interesting things happening. If you get a chance I would visit Hannover Zoo it is really nice. Also be sure to take a stroll through Niki de Saint Phalle Promenade (Lowerlevel between Ernst August Platz Bahnhof (Train station) and Kroepke.
Hope this helps a little bit.
