What is a good English tranlation for the German saying "Selbst ist die Frau"?

I know what it means, but is there a catchy English saying?
Additional Details
Please stop telling me what it means, I speak fluent English and German, I know what it means. I want to know if anyone can come up with a matching English saying.

She can hold her own.
Not kidding... that's it.
She can hold her own is used as a phrase to say exactly that... Selbst ist die Frau.

Im from Germany and that is a German saying...
okay it mean like "the woman can do all on herself" so she needs nobody and can do everything...

Sorry, Amber is wrong and Sonne is 80% right.

"Self-reliance is the name of the game" hits the goal, but there are 2 different sayings in Germany: a) Selbst ist der Mann b) Selbst ist die Frau. (Mann = man, Frau = woman)

"Selbst ist die Frau" is just a result from "Selbst ist der Mann", which originally was an advertisement campeign in the early 20ies in Germany.

most literal translation is "Even is the woman."
I normally have seen it used in situations where women are doing something that traditionally a man would be doing and they are doing it just as well or better.
