What is a good budget hotel in Munich?

In other answers on this site I have seen references to Etap hotels, but there are several of them in Munich- which is the closest to the city centre? I also need room for 3 people in the room, and I am finding that many hotels only allow two people.

Thanks

I recommend the Easy Palace Munich Main Station. This one is in walking distance to the main station and right in the city center.
You can get a deluxe room with in room bathroom and also 3 beds for about €30 per person per night.
I did stay there already twice and really liked it.

The ETAP hotel closest to the city centre is City Süd at Tegernseer Landstrasse 174 A.

Personally however I would recommend staying at the Meininger hotel+hostel. http://www.meininger-hostels.com/
