A Euro is like an american dollar only it is in coin form. I used plenty of them while in Italy last year. The only difference is the exchange rate, which in my case was horrible. I lost quite a bit of money in the exhange. You can check the value of the Euro vs the Dollar on most all financial websites. Just look for exchange rates.
