I lived in Germany for 14 years (mostly in the Mannheim/Heidelberg area which is in southern central Germany), and I have visited Berlin many times. My impression was always that Berlin is the most metropolitan of all the German cities; the pace is fast and the feel of the city is very modern and hip. It is also a cultural mecca- wonderful museums, architecture, symphony, theater, etc. You can say the same things about other cities in Germany, such as Munich, Cologne, Hamburg, etc., but the thing that I always thought really set Berlin apart was the very contemporary, on-the-pulse-of-what-is-hip feeling you get there; it's very much like being in New York, Paris, and other world-class cities. I hope this helps somewhat... |

Hi, ive never lived in Berlin but i had the pleasure of visiting last january.
Life there is great, everything you can ask of for a place to live id guess. Only problem for me is that i cant speak German).
People were really helpful and friendly. Restraunts, pubs and clubs etc, that i visited were all very good.
Excellent and well priced public transport.
Hope this is useful. If its for a holiday (vacation) try tripadvisor website for specific travel info in berlin. |

It was Karl Scheffler who said "Berlin is a city that never is, but is always in the process of becoming." Basically, Berlin is a city that is always changing. Obviously, things have improved greatly in the area since 15 years ago. It's a fun place to live with so much to do. |

Berlin.. wow is something UNIQUE... I love Berlin I have being there like 3 times already and I just love it. There is so much to do. Is like the center of Germany you can find anything there, anyone because its visited alot by famous people. People go there a lot for shopping because there are like 2 streets with real high top designer stores (GUCCI, PRADA, DOLCE GABANA, GUESS, BANINI, etc...)Its even special because of what happen there, its like everything started life upon what happen... the fall of the berlin wall. |
