What is the best guidebook to use when traveling in Europe?

I know there are many different brands (Frommers, Lonely Planet, etc.). Which is the most informative and easy to use?

I'm traveling to Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.

Also, when do the new editions come out? When will the 2007 versions be available? anyone?

Rick Steve's. He's from Seattle and he is on OPB with his own videos and shows as well as guide books. look up Rick Steve's..

on his videos, he's very imformative and tell you how to find the "locals" and how to really integrate into the countries in a short amount of time. He also tells you what the local attractions are (not just the tourist attractions) and he finishes it off with how to save your money and still get the best local foods and gifts. He travels to Europe so often and knows an elaborate amount of information on all countries in Europe. Go for Rick Steves!

I am planning a trip to Spain and Pairs and have found Rick Steve's and Lets Go both very informative. They both have good information on nice places to stay and dine. I have also used them to plan trips before and they seem to be the best out there.
Lets Go might have a 2007 out but it is a little early for them to come out.

the lonely planet guides, they've got everything you need

I like the AAA Spital Guides because you can flip the pages back and hold your book in one hand...which is really helpful when you're lost and trying to find your way. They are also organized very nicely. I have one for Paris, London and NYC now.

I prefer to use the Conde Nast Traveler Magazine for ideas, and really any travel book that you find at the book store, that is easy for YOU to read.

They are all basically alike in content. Spend some time looking through them, and you may need to pick up maps. Find witch one makes you want to read it.
