Hello,
I am an English teacher here. I work with kids and teens...
Popular music - are an awful band called Tokio Hotel - all young girls love them - and it is awful music!!!!
The worst thing is they want to now conquer the world!! And are releasing an English Album - which sounds even worse! - so they can be global music stars!!
I hope not!!
Germans are also very environmental - look here to get an idea:

Football is not a new craze!! They love it as much as the English do! |

It would be lovely if we could dispense with the Nazi jokes.
It's rather distasteful. |

Here is no new craze. It's like everytime. The people will be like the americans, just only two years too late.
@Jesus chris...
Do you think really it's a fad when people try to learn a foreign language and you laughing about that? You are so clever that you can do that?
How many languages did you learn?
??..I understand, you have no time ... (or what ever )
to learn or to open up your mind for that.
Why don't you learn german ? Of course, I think it is too easy for you.
Come on Mr. Wise Guy translate this
Nur der Dumme lacht über den , der lernen möchte.
and then think about it and learn... |

"Nordic walking"
It's actually been there for a few years, but it has really caught on lately.
It's walking/hiking with two sticks like for cross-country skiing.
That's harmless compared to Tokio Hotel who really are polluting the airwaves and the atmosphere with their noise.
There is another growing fad which is "medieval markets" where people dress up in medieval dress and buy things that are made after the fashion of those times. They sell you mead and all kinds of lovely food, and some of the hand-made craft, especially jewellery, is really nice and original. |

I was in Germany in summer 2006 and I can attest to the fad of "walking", which is Nordic Walking, and it is possible that "spinning" is also a growing fad among the active population, of which Germany has a large one. |
