Which "Hofheim" you mean - there are several towns with that name in Germany. There is one Hofheim near Frankfurt and another in Bavaria and some other Hofheim's in other parts of Germany?
First, Frankfurt and Berlin are both great cities and you can see lots of great things. But, you have not written any details. I suggest you to visit the official websites of both cities and also the website of the German tourism office. I have attached all these websites at the end for you.
Remember that weather can be extremely hot, sometimes even very humid, in Germany in July - you should also check the weather for Germany before you leave for this country. A good weather website is http://www.wetteronline.de oder http://www.wetter.de - but, both sites are in German language only.
If you have any more questions, you can contact me - just click at my profile and send me an email, if you want.
Greetings from Germany! |

There is so much to see and do in Frankfurt, any time of the year! The Römer, the Kaiser Döm, Main River, numerous museums (including but not limited to; the Jweish museums, Natural History museum etc) and then there are historical places, like Alt Sachsenhausen where you can eat traditional meals and drinks! Like the previous answerer said visit www.frankfurt.de and hopefully this will help! Take care and happy travelling!!! |

The open air concert in Gendermenmarkt in Berlin is one of the most wonderful things I have ever been too. Officially you have to pay to get in, but people pack picnic dinners with wine, and beer and sit all over the square and listen to the concerts for free. If you will be there during that time believe me you don't want to miss it. |

Hofheim is near Frankfurt just 1/2 hours to drive. What you can do in Frankfurt and Berlin in early July: go to museum, zoo, there is so many parks, street fasts, river cruise, cafes..... more and more. |

I lived outside of Frankfurt for 2 1/2 years. I loved it!!! There is soo much to see and do. The German culture is rich with art, food, archetecture and more. My advice to you is when you arrive or before you depart, research the internet (google Frankfurt Germany). Be cautious for traveling Americans (asuming you are) are vulnerable. However, if it were me, I would go with no plan, no destination, bring a friend and just go go go! Have a great trip. |

I agree with going to the the Love Parade if you are there on the right weekend, but don't plan on staying all day. You'll end up with a headache from all the loud music.
July can be cool or warm in Berlin, you just never know. If the weather is nice, sitting in cafes or walking some of the many parks in Berlin is nice. There are also two Zoos: one in the City West and one in the City East.
Depending on the time you have, definately try to see:
Tiergarten
Kurfurstendamm
Potsdamer Platz
Friedrichstrasse
Checkpoint Charlie
T.V. Tower (go to the top, you will have an EXCELLENT view of the city)**** Don't miss this!
Unter den Linden
Brandenburg Gate
It sounds like a lot, but many of the main places to see are close to each other. Get a map before you go and get an idea of the two city centers: East and West |

I don't know anything about Frankfurt - but you could go by train in 1 hour to medieval Heidelberg, it is a must. In Berlin you could check what will be the current exhibitions in the Neue Nationalgallerie www.neue-nationalgalerie.de and also visit 1-2 museums on the island of the museums (I strongly recommend the Pergamon, not extremely big and very impressive).http://www.smb.spk-berlin.de/smb/standorte/index.php?lang=en&p=2&objID=27&n=1&r=4
The Tiergarten is a huge, great park and the Potsdamer Platz has great modern architecture buildings.
During summer there are "beaches" across the river or a little bit outside the center - in any case http://www.berlin.de/english/ should be your reference and if you know any german you can also consult http://www.zitty.de/ |
