- THE harbour (my favourite part of the city) with
_ - Landungsbruecken (landing stage): take a guided tour (most likely also in english!)
_ - Old Elbe tunnel (tunnel beneath the river Elbe)
_ - Rickmer Rickmers - a big sailing ship
_ - Speicherstadt - old warehouses
_ - Hafen City - harbour city: a completely new quarter at the Elbe
_ - take subway No 3 which will grant you a great view of the harbour
_ - climb up St. Michaelis Church for a nice panoramic view
_ - Fischmarkt in Altona - fish market (but not only fish)
- "DOM" - fun fair at Heiligengeistfeld
- Reeperbahn in St. Pauli for nightlife
- Jungfernstieg at the Binnenalster, Alster Arcades and Town Hall
- St. Petri Church
- Planten un Blomen - a nice gardenlike park; walk along Wallanlagen down to Landungsbruecken
- television tower
- a lot of museums
- museum harbour at Oevelgoenne
- if you like "real" football: a match at Millern Tor Stadium - FC St. Pauli is THE football club with germany's "craziest" fans :-)

for more information about most of my suggestions have a look at
http://international.hamburg.de/index.do?ok=18338&uk=21353

Have a lot of fun in germany's most interesting city!!!
