Yummy I love German food!! I always make lot's of it from Bratwurst with sauerkaurt, Friekadel with mashed potatoes, Schnitzel with fried potatoes, but my favorite is Rolanden with pasta and the gravey!! Oh it's delicios...If you haven't tried it you should.

You need the following:
Rolanden meat (thin sliced Sirlion Steak)
Thin flat pasta noddles
Smoked Bacon cut in thin little pieces
Pickles....German ones if you can get them thin little slices
Onion thin sliced
Toothpicks
Salt and Pepper
Mustard
Maggi brand Rolanden Gravey

Take the meat and salt and pepper both sides
Put mustard on one side all over
Then put the onion, pickles, and bacon and roll it up
Then use the toothpicks to close tight so nothing comes out.
then fry them in oil in a pan for about a minute on all sides
them put in a pot with the gravey mix and cook on low medium for an hour.
Serve when done with noodles and the gravey.

I don't have recipes, but kasespaetzle, Knodels, and pretty much anything from a backerei are really good. Except for the lebkuchen, and the leberwurst.

My personal favorite is Maultauschen, a German ravoli served in southwest germany. They are normally fairly big and stuffed with meat and spices. It's commonly served in a broth, though I've had some fried as well which were amazing. I don't have a recipe that I've tried (as I'm currently in Germany and you can buy them premaid at the supermarket) though I've googled recipes for them before and there are plenty in English.

Breezer, When I go to Germany this is what my Son in law fixes for us. It is so wonderful.

MEAT & CABBAGE

1 lb. hamburg
1/2 c. uncooked rice
2 tbsp. shortening
1 beaten egg
1 chopped onion
1 can tomato soup
Lemon juice
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. parsley
3/4 c. cut celery
Salt & pepper
6 lg. cabbage leaves

Season hamburg with salt, pepper; add egg and mix. Mix in rice.
SAUCE: Melt butter and add onion. Cook. Add soup and equal amount of water. Cook 10 minutes. Boil cabbage leaves until tender. Fill leaves with meat mixture, roll tightly. Serve with toothpicks. Bake slowly 2 hours after pouring sauce over all.

So you talk about food or meals? Talking about food, to me it's "Wuerstchen" (weiner, sausages), no need for a recipe there, you just buy them ;-)
