It really depends where you are going to in Germany...

There is loads you can do in each region - but you need to be a bit more precise about what you like.

Sport is very popular here - hiking, trekking and cycling.

Paragliding - it was invented here! go to Wasserkuppe to try it out - this is the birth place!

Skiing & snowboarding is also available in the summer - in indoor arenas. Water & fun parks are usually in every big city. In Bavaria there is water-rafting.

Skate-boarding and in-line skating are also popular.

In Berlin there is a popular craze starting - not sure of the name in English - but it involves people climbing over buildings, phone boxes...etc, instead of walking around them...here is a link to describe it... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4954812.stm

There is loads of culture to see - music, theatre and museums,

Germany is pretty cool. i say the small towns are the best b/c they have SO much character and people are great. depends where you are going.

i would say biking down the Rhine River would be cool to see the castles. There is also a town thats village was built into the side of a mountain. they sell lots of cool handmade jewlery. Bike trails are great, small cruies on a river, walking through an old castle, Beer Gardens, Hiking (if you are in the right area), camping (right area). Hiedleberg, Rothenburg, Munich, are all cool. its hard to say since i dont know where you are.

for great in depth descriptions of activites, accomidations, and transportation i say buy a Rick Steves Book. They are about $20 and WELL worth it. it will tell you everything you want to know.

depended on what part of Germany you are going to.
1) i went to the Wannsee Conference Museum, if you are interested in WWII, thats where all the top nazi officers meet to make the final decisions about the camps.
2) lots of actutivies in Berlin, saw Blue Man Group there.
3) if you like cars, the headquarters of BMW and Benz are in Germany, they both have test tracks and HUGE car museums.
4) shopping, theres are really big shopping area, and i mean blocks after blocks.
5) clubs are pretty good, but small and pack
6) hop on a train and go to other places like france and switzerland, really easy and really cheap
7) if you like museums, lots and lots of museum in Berlin, the famous Jewish museum is there
8) the cinderella castle is in germany too
9) if you have time, theres a little town in english translation means "hell," is small but you can say you been to hell and back =)
10) and lots more

The Tank

Depends where you're going. It's a big and diverse country.

In Bavaria (Beyern) they have dark forests, lots of loverly grub and they really like their beer. Don't waste your time drinking the standard 'international' brands, try some from a local brewery.

In the northern plain around Cologne (Koln) as far as Hannover it's a bit bland and industrial. You could visit Hammel and see where the piper led away the rats.

Go east into Brandenberg and Berlin and you'll find plenty to eat and drink. Don't bother with people who enthuse about 'curryworst'. They've obviously never tried proper curry. A hot dog soused with spicy thin tomato ketchup is nothing to be proud of. Lots of great micro-breweries in Berlin though.

Apart from that, the Germans love music and theatre. They have some fantastic scenery too, especially in the south, cycling and mountain walking are good.

well it depends on what you like to do. but i lived there for 3 years and all i did was party and club for 3 years strate 4 days a week non stop i kid you not i think germany has some of the best clubs in the world and the europen women are so HOT

The city of Munich is bustling with all sorts of people from students to musicians, artists and the like. The place is known for its nightlife and for the love for fashion. The season to visit Munich is from June to October when you can actually enjoy and taste the fun and flora of the city. The popular tourist spots are the Englischer Garden which has a Chineese Pagoda along with beautifully trimmed landscape parks. Then there are also the Residenz palace and Klostergasthof Andechs well known for its chilly beer.
Konigshof Hotel and Stachus Plaza are recommendable places to stay.

The city of Hamburg also known as the â€˜gateway to the worldâ€™ is situated between the Lake Alster and River Elbe. The place has a horde of museums and historical buildings with a bubbling nightlife and delectable cuisine. Hotels like Kempinski Hotel Atlantic Hamburg located alongside Lake Alster can be opted to stay.
If you want to take a look at old timber houses along with skyscrapers then the city of Frankfurt is the right choice. The place has lots of attractions like Palmengarten (1869) -a home to thousands of wonderful plants, events of the sort Nokia Night of the Proms, the Frankfurt zoo and so forth.

Apart from these cities there are other celebrated cities are Cologne known for German architecture, long winding roads, restaurants and the hot favorite of children as well as kids-the Chocolate Museum, the city of Saarburg resting in the hills of Saar river valley and also the city known for giving birth too auto companies- Stuttgart.

It all depends where you are going. We have got it all. Seaside, Lakes, Mountains, Golf, Riding, Fishing, go-carting, bowling, it's just the same as anywhere else.

There are quite a lot you could do in Germany but it depends on the area you will be visiting.Yes, the small towns are much better, life is not so fast and there is a lot historical sites to see with ease of movement. When you get the chance, try and visit a place called Rothenburg ob Der Tauber. I have a lasting memory of that historic town was there for weeks, it attracts worldwide toursits due to its great tourist attractions and history.Just before you go,you could arm yourself with few basic German words like guten tag=good day, bitte=please and Danke=thank u. Enjoy ur trip.
