This obviously depends on what "places" you are interested in. Are you talking about sightseeing, or dining, or clubbing?
For sightseeing, the first choice would be simply the heart of the city with some old-ish buildings, and the nice Schnoor and Böttcherstraße (much frequented by tourists). Then there is also the "Universum", a nice sort of technical event-museum for all ages, and the "Fallturm" (falling tower) at the university.
If you are interested in art, visit the Kunsthalle (art museum) with frequent interesting expositions, and the artist colonies of Worpswede and Fischerhude outside of Bremen.
