Sorry guys that I did not take care of my lady boy Sanjay. He ran away because I gave him human caviar with curry which he threw out again. To punish him - I let him watch how I do his cow... |

Buy a three day ticket of the VVS ( local public transport ) - you will only get this ticket from the hotel you are staying at or at the tourist information ( opposite of main station ) since this is a special offer for tourists only. Well and what to do in Stuttgart ? You could visit the Porsche museum or the Mercedes Benz museum, the Wilhelma ( zoo ), Mineralbad Leuze ( not as good as Caracalla Therme in Baden-Baden but still a nice spa ), also if you are there within the next two weeks you can visit the Frühlingsfest which is kinda Oktoberfest only in spring |

I don't know what Alwin is on about I think Kehrwoche is nothing in particular of Stuttgart. We have that in Papenburg too. |

If you want to enjoy traditional food I can reccomend "Ochs'n Willi" , it's near Schloßplatz and not too expensive. There is also the Fernsehturm in the south of the city, it is the town's landmark. It's always worth going to the main station and take the elevator to the top of the old tower- right where the Mercedes star is. Nice view from there and small exhibitions in the lower levels where you can see how Stuttgart will look like in 10 years- for free.
There is a beautiful castle in Ludwigsburg with a nice garden. You can take the train called S-Bahn. It's a twenty minutes ride.
I would suggest walking around in Canstatt, the oldest part of the city. |

When I went there I went shopping on Kings St. i think its called, went ontop of that radio tower there and went to the Mercedes-benz museum (a little boring though). |

All of the above sounds pretty reasonable... but you may also want to keep in mind the two links below: The Gottlieb Daimler Stadion (a World Cup venue btw) and right next to it is the (reasonably priced) BMW museum. It's very interesting and you could spend loads of time in the museum.
Amongst other things you may also wish to consider the (cheap!) guided tours on offer through the local Tourist Information Office-there is lots to learn about a lovely city like Stuttgart.
I did all these things when I visited during the World Cup in 2006, so can recommend these.
Viel Spass in Stuttgart! |

You won't have any big chance to leave your home. Stuttgarters have a tradition that is called "Kehrwoche" ("sweeping week"), and you will learn soon about it once you're arrived. There is the "small sweeping week" which only requires you to clean the stairways and the pavement in front of your house three times a week, and then there's the big one, which also requires you to clean your garbage cans. And, no, a waterhose won't do; Stuttgarters will expect you to clean them by hand. And, no, you don't only have one garbage can, you have three of them. And, no, don't dispose glass into them; there are special containers for glassy items at the next corner. And, yes, they mean it serious that you have to separate between white, brown, and green. And, yes, they're serious about the times when you're allowed to dispose off your glassy things. And, yes, the neighbors will be watching.
That's why I loved Berlin so much. No "Kehrwoche", no glassy thingy disposal; you just used the next "Bauschuttcontainer" to dispose of the things you didn't need any more... |
