Berlin was recently rated to be the cheapest place to live in Germany if you are receiving government support..cheapest rent, beer etc. Munich is VERY expensive. Smaller towns are cheaper in some ways, but transportation costs negate any savings. |

KOLN, is the best city as it has the best people of the World, I was living there for 2 years, oh my God, in all bars people offering me beers, as they could see that I was guest; when it comes to New Year, girls were just walking toward me and kissing me and saying Happy New Year; I really Love Koln
When I compare them with Canadian in Toronto, German are Angles and Canadian Evils! |

Munich. It's one of the safest cities as well, and there's always something to do. I loved living there. But it's hardly the cheapest place to live. A small studio apartment would cost you about 500 euro a month. |

Hamburg. But living is somewhat cheaper in the smaller towns. |

Smaller towns are you best bet because the cost of living in Germany is pretty high. If you do want to live in a big city then Berlin has a relatively low cost of living compared to other cities. |
