it depends on the company that operates their mobile. that is why you usually tell also the area code of your mobile when telling the number and since I used to work in Reading I know that you do that over there too. So just dial 0049 + the number you have without the first 0.

ALWIN E - I know everything better than anybody else that's why I have to comment even others gave an appropriate answer. Better go back in the redlight district and try to sell yourself - okay I understand that you depend on socialwelfare due to your wornout anus which was much more tight when you were a "young American rock music" guy

0190 - and don't believe the guy above me he is imposing and impersonating me. He wants to be funny but he is a w a n k e r

Do you ask this because you are into phone sex
can I have a try you sutre have a sexy voice

Jana
Uhm.. Let's imagine your friends mobile phone number is

0170 12345

you would have to phone +49170 12345

+49 = 0049.. so basicly you have to take off the first 0 of the mobile phone numbers :) and the area code for germany is 0049.

Real answer:

Dial 0049 and the number minus the zero.

Alwin E
Don't believe the "0190" stuff, that's value-added service numbers you should NEVER dial.

Germany has the country code +49, mobiles don't have area codes, but "provider codes". (How would an area code make sense for a MOBILE?). They usually start with 1, followed by a two-digit number identifying the provider. 177 and 178, for example, is e-plus, 174 belongs to Vodafone, afaik, and there are several others (mine has 152). Germans usually state these numbers as 0177 asf., as the zero is the national long distance dial code, WHICH YOU'LL HAVE TO SKIP WHEN CALLING FROM ABROAD and replace with the +49.

What follows then is the 8 or 9 digit mobile phone number.

So when you're calling from a mobile yourself and have the number stored in your phonebook, just edit it and replace the leading 0 with +49. (The + sign usually is on the 0 key if you press it long enough.) When calling from a landline phone, ask what the international dialing code is in your country; in Germany it would be 00, so for GB, I would have to dial 0044 on a landline or +44 on a mobile.

fliege52000
Area code for Germany is: 049

Learn And Teach
Germany's international Call prefix is 00, Country Code is 49. Mobile Phone Numbers usually start with 01 followed by the phone company's code (two digits). Then comes the actual phone number. Put together:

0049 1XX YYYYYYYY

OR

+49 1XX YYYYYYYY

If he's given you his mobile number, he'll have included the mobile network prefix already - there are so many different ones in Germany that everyone always includes their prefix. The only thing they have in common is that they all start with 01. Say your friends number is 0199-12345678, then you dial 0049 (for international calling to Germany, the UK has a tendency to change this frequently), followed by 199-12345678. Note the left out 0 when calling internationally.
In all, you dial 00-49-199-12345678. (Spammers - feel free to send your worst to this number, it's fictional)

It depends which provider do you have.
If youchange the provider and you decide to take your tel. no. with you, you can do that.
So you can not really see which provider do you have.

Trust me , this answer is the truth.
@ the 26 bad voters : fools !!!
