Brandenburg Gate
East Side Gallery (the remains of the Berlin Wall)
Gedächniskirche

and lots of other stuff. Two helpful links are www.btm.de (Berlin Tourism Marketing) and www.berlin.de (the city's official home page)

depends on your interests, but I would have thought everything mainly because of the Berlin Wall and all the history. If you are not into history don't go.!!!!

There are many sights and sites worth seeing in Berlin. I don't think that I can list them all. It also depends on what you like, because there is something in Berlin for each taste. In general, I'd recommend taking an English language walking tour (such as with Insider Tours) on your first or second day there, so you'll get to know the most important sites efficiently (they also have other good tours: a pub crawl, a "Jewish" tour, a "Third Reich" tour and so on. Check on their site by entering "Insider Tour Berlin" in your search engine).

However, let me give you a couple of suggestions of "don't miss" stuff:

Sites - Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, The Holocaust Memorial, Sony Centre/POstdamer Platz, KuDamm/Memorial Church, Hackscher Hoefe, East Side Gallery, Alexander Platz, Unter den LInden, Gendarmenmarkt, the "Jewish qurter" in Mitte, Tiergarten (park), Schloss Charlottenburg (at least the gardens), Nikolai-Viertel (Nikolai Quarter), Museum Island, Terptower Park memorial.

Museums - Jewish Museum, Pergamon Museum, Kulturforum, Topography of Terror- these are really a must; but there are many other great Museums and galleries. The Natural History Museum, for example, has the largest dinosaur in the world; The Technical Museum is pretty phatastic.

Other Stuff - Hanging out in Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, and/or Boxhagener Platz/Simon-Dach areas; going to Berlin's Zoo - one of the oldest and largest in the world; Shopping in Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg; Going to the flea markets; going to swim in one of the lakes (there are also nude areas, marked by FKK) or in the Badeschiff - a ship in the Spree River; Going on a boat-ride through the Spree and in the lakes; Drinking cafe in Bergmann Strasse and eating Doener Kebab in Kottbusser Tor.

Oh God, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Berlin has EVERYTHING... ;-)

Well one fun thing that was not mentioned was lunch in the fernsehenturm (TV tower) and the rotating floor view of the entire city...with those recorder guide things...really got trashed on the german beer...It was beautiful though....

Really depends on what you like to see, there is some of everything. Check out the websites others give you. Tons of info there. Make a plan , because you can't see everything unless you stay there a long time. Don't be affraid to get away from the touristy things ! Much more interesting when you do it on your own.

berlin is an amazing city but with a footprint 14 times that of paris, don't expect to see it all in one weekend!!! a really fun way of seeing all the sites is to go out in a trabant on safari.... you can do the west side monuments such as the brandenburg gate, reichstag etc, or you can do the east side taking in alexanderplatz, t.v tower east side gallery etc. get a good guide book and plan well ahead as it's easy to get side tracked while wandering.....
feel free to mail me, i'm a british ex pat living in berlin for 2 years and adore the city.
