When do high schoolers and college students in Germany get their summer holidays?
mid-June, July, August. These are the main summer holidays. It varies between states.

July, August and September is the semester break but 'normal' school holidays are different in every federal state.

It varies - generally speaking the students in northern Germany start things off and return to school earliest. As you go south, the summer holidays begin later. I've been told children in Munich begin their holidays last.

Its not the same in every county. I live in dortmund and the first day of the hloidays this this year is the 26th june and lasts for 6 1/2 weeks.
