Since you don't specify what part of Germany, there's not a lot we can help you with.
There is a designer outlet mall in Saarbruecken. There's another one in Aschaffenberg, in Wertheim, and Mannheim There's a small outlet store in Erlangen
There's a nice one in Toulange, France. |

Not easy to get there without a car,but c5 is a large outlet just outside Berlin:

Quite honestly, I haven't been there. If you're thinking about"outlets" in the American style, I think that there is a different style of shopping here.
This could also help, with many shops inside Berlin:

Just a note on the recommendation to go to Boxhagener Platz or to Kollwitzplatz: they don't have American style outlets there, although they have many great designer shops; and there is one on Frankfurter Allee |

There are lots of trendy small boutiques in Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain in Berlin. I used to live in Friedrichshain and your best place to look around there is in the area surrounding Boxhagener Platz. Otherewise, most of Prenzlauer Berg is super trendy. |
